From Saturday 18 November, Letchworth Outdoor Pool is set to transform into a magical festive ice-skating rink, with a covered real ice rink on the terrace of the outdoor pool at Norton Common, Icknield Way.
Children as young as four can take to the ice, and it’s also a great activity for adults – group bookings are available so it’s the perfect solution for that office Christmas party! And the café will be offering a variety of festive treats and hot drinks to warm you up while you’re there.
The Outdoor Pool and Skate Letchworth, among other facilities in the North Herts district, are provided on the council’s behalf by Stevenage Leisure Ltd (SLL).
Councillor Steve Jarvis, Executive Member for Environment and Leisure, said: “We’re excited to bring the ice rink back this year. We had a great response last year with positive feedback. It will no doubt be a spectacular addition to the Letchworth scene for the Christmas period.”
Cllr Mick Debenham, Deputy Executive Member for Environment and Leisure, added: “What a great activity to have in our town for the period leading up to Christmas. Why not build in a trip on the ice with some shopping in the town to pick up your Christmas goodies?”
James Bliss, Regional Contract Manager, at SLL said: “The outdoor pool is the perfect destination for budding skaters this winter. Skate Letchworth is a great activity to have some festive fun with friends and family.”
